Frequently Asked Questions

We know that adopting a pet, volunteering, or supporting our shelter can bring up many questions. To help make your experience as smooth and rewarding as possible, we’ve put together answers to some of the most frequently asked questions.

About our Process

Our adoption fee typically ranges from $450 to $650 for most of our dogs.

About our Dogs

Many of the dogs we rescue come from Puerto Rico, where they are often found as strays and lovingly referred to as “Satos.” Despite facing hardships on the streets, these resilient dogs make some of the most loyal and loving family pets we’ve ever known.

We also take in many dogs from animal control facilities in the Southern U.S., often saving them just days—or even hours—before scheduled euthanasia. These "death row" pups come in all breeds, sizes, and backgrounds, and many were once cherished pets before ending up in overcrowded shelters.

Less frequently, we also intake dogs from Europe, ensuring that no matter where they come from, they have the opportunity for a second chance at a loving home.

Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome these incredible dogs, giving them the care and compassion they deserve while finding them the perfect forever family.
